A Good Start for Namibian Archery in 2016
More than 80 archers from all over Africa competed in this prestigious event. Namibia’s Francois Marais won the Gold medal to become the African Champion in the Compound Men division.

Tsumeb Archery Club hosted the Moruti Spar shoot on the 27th of February. With participants from all regions of Namibia, the competition was well supported with 30 archers competing in various categories. With significant support from the Tsumeb community and numerous sponsors, the event was a huge success. It contines to become ever more clear that Archery is indeed a growing family sport.

Karola Woortman, Secretary-General of the Archery Association of Namibia (AAN) and the only World Archery International Youth Judge in Africa, was selected as a judge for the prestigious World Indoor Championship event in Ankara, Turkey. Woortman was the only representative judge from Africa.

National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Namibia would like to welcome 19 new Basic Archery Instructors and 1 Basic Archery Instructor Trainer. These new instructors passed their tests during February and March. Lastly, we are proud to welcome Gobabis Gymnasium, Welwitschia School, and Sparta Development to the Namibian archery family.
