Nel, Malan & Reddig in Top Form

Because of the growing numbers, the venue for the competition was changed to Windhoek High School sports ground.

Louw Nel, Ilana Malan and Xander Reddig again showed their competitors how it’s done with Nel in very good competition with Francois Marais and Ben van Wyk. Malan continued holding onto her number one position beating Elisabeth Taljaard and Liezl Schoeman respectively. Xander Reddig had good competition from his rival Adriaan Grobler, but the more experienced Xander won with ease.

On the NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program) side, 6schools participated and the results were as follow:

In the Under Junior Females category, Alana Adonis from St Paul’ s won the Gold medal with 2 points against Nadia Martins from St Georges who won the Silver medal. The second runner up, winning Bronze, was Jana Swanepoel from St Paul’s.

Junior Male, Zander Els, from Carpe Diem Homeschooling won the Gold medal with a score of 256 out of 300. Pieter Hough, from Walvis Bay Private School, finished second with Arian Becker from St Georges as second runner up.

For our Senior Females, it was a very nerve wrecking gold medal match with the two Erasmus siblings from Berg-op School finishing their eliminations with the same score taking them to a single arrow shoot out. Melany Erasmus won Gold, Bianca Erasmus won Silver and Monique Louw from Walvis Bay Private School won Bronze.

In the Senior Male category, Lukas Els from Carpe Diem Homeschooling finished the day winning Gold, where as the Van Zyl brothers from Lüderitz finished with Rassie winning Silver and Johann winning Bonze.
