Namibian Archers compete at World Field Archers Championship

NAMIBIAN ARCHERS COMPETE AT WORLD FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The event, sponsored by the International Field Archery Association (IFAA), took place from Aug 4 – 8, 2014. Several hundred archers from 21 nations converged on the site of the Easton Archery Training Centre for this prestigious event. 

Jolien Els of Walvis Bay competed in the Junior Female Bowhunter Unlimited division; Jackson Engel of Windhoek was shooting in the Junior Male Freestyle Unlimited division; and Bea Viviers of Windhoek was competing in the Adult Female Freestyle Unlimited division. 

All archers did very well in the event with Jolien Els winning the Silver Medal (2nd place), Jackson Engel finishing in 5thplace and Bea Viviers finishing in 7th place in their respective divisions. Despite rainy weather conditions throughout the event, Namibia’s archers showed themselves to be highly competitive on the world stage.
