Namibia Archers break records at SA Nationals

NAMIBIA ARCHERS BREAK RECORDS AT SA NATIONALS 1
Final seeding after the completion of the 1440 Round (“Full FITA”) is as follows:

6th Place—Ilana Malan (Compound Women)

6th Place—Louw Nel (Compound Men)

1st Place—Ruan van Staaden (Compound Junior Men)

1st Place—Xander Reddig (Recurve Cadet Men)

1st Place—Elizabeth Taljaard (Compound Cadet Women)

2nd Place—Hendrik van Eeden (Compound Cadet Men)

1st Place—Hanne Snyman (Compound Girls Under 13)

Meanwhile Hanné Snyman shot a record-breaking 1404 making her the first Namibian archer to ever achieve a score of 1400 or more. Snyman is also only the second female archer to ever shoot a 1400+ on the African continent.

The 720 Round and Eliminations competition got off to a good start on Tuesday with Namibia’s archers currently seeded as follows in preparation for today’s (2nd April) elimination rounds:

1st Place—Xander Reddig (Recurve Cadet Men)

7th Place—Ilana Malan (Compound Women)

2nd Place—Ruan van Staaden (Compound Junior Men)

3rd Place—Hendrik van Eeden (Compound Cadet Men)

4th Place—Jackson Engel (Compound Cadet Men)

2nd Place—Elizabeth Taljaard (Compound Cadet Women)

1st Place—Hanne Snyman (Compound Girls Under 13)

Xander Reddig shot a personal best 640—his second qualifying score in preparation for the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. Elimination rounds commence on today (2nd April).
