Shooting at a distance of 50 meters in the elimination rounds with tricky wind conditions, Nel advanced in a one-arrow shoot out against Hennie Barnard to secure a place in the gold medal match against Patrick Roux. He then battled it out on Monday morning to win individual silver in the compound men’s competition.

Malan ranked a respectable 5th place in the individual competition. She also battled windy conditions and was eliminated in the 1/8 competition.

This competition played a vital part in Malan and Nel’s preparations for the World Games that will be held in Poland in July this year.

The next big event for Target Archery is the 10th Namibian National Championships to be held at SKW, Windhoek on the 27 & 28 May 2017. To enter please e-mail Paul Grobler at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
